This test will be applied simultaneously to all candidates in 1 day. It will be held on 28 February 2010*. For TOEFL, there will be TOEFL test, for other classes tutor candidates, there will be performance test.

2. Teaching Method Test + Interview

In this phase, candidate will be asked to do a class simulation and show his/her method of teaching. After that every candidate will be interviewed by our selection team.

about Andina Nabila Irvani (Spotlight)

Andina (19 years old), a student of visual communication design at Bina Nusantara University, began painting her sister's canvas shoes just for fun. What started as a hobby has turned into a potential business. Andina and her sister Nerissa Arviana, a graduate of the School of Business and Management at the Bandung Institute of Technology, founded Spotlight and started to produce painted canvas shoes in larger quantities. To expand the business, Spotlight decided to make not only painted shoes but also painted T-shirts and bags. The company has five employees and its monthly revenue has reached Rp. 18.000.000,- -- 22.000.000,- .
Andina is in charge of products and promotion while her sister handles the finances and product orders.

There has been a hacking attempt possibly by a script kiddie "AUREL 666" (after doing some little research) who doesnt have enough ability to hack but using common technique instead. We from the IT department are so grateful for the reminder by "AUREL 666" for our weakness in suspending the SQL update too much.

International essay competition
A future, global knowledge society ? what is it really?

The consultancy company NIRAS asks this question in an international
essay competition focusing on the future, global knowledge society. On
September 1st 2006, NIRAS celebrates its 50th anniversary, and being a
knowledge-based company, NIRAS has a special interest in this topic.

The competition is launched at universities in 21 countries worldwide.
Two winners will be awarded a 1st price of EUR 16,000 and a 2nd price
of EUR 8,000. They will also receive a trip to Copenhagen for the
presentation of the winner essays. During their stay in Copenhagen,
they will be given ample opportunity to meet with NIRAS' customers and
partners, and other interesting people.

"We wish to create some new, inventive, and hopefully different images
of the future of the world through the essay competition. These images
should focus on the future, global society of knowledge and cultural
integration," says NIRAS' Director of Development Henrik Kærgård. He
continues: We intend to use these images in our further development
and hope they may serve as an inspiration to others within Academia
and knowledge-based companies, or to people with an interest in these
issues."

Participants in the competition must hand in an abstract in English on
January 1st 2006. The abstracts will be carefully evaluated, and ten
participants will be asked to write an essay to be submitted on May 1st
2006.

This is the second of a series of regional essay competitions intended to foster appreciation of places in different regions of the world as lived experiences. Specifically, the essay competition invites reflections on that elusive yet distinct sense of place reflected in natural and designed objects and environments.

?One of the most distinct attitudes of Latin American architects and planners towards urbanism is an undiminished faith in the Ideal Community. ? there persists something of the pioneer?s dream of a new Civitas Dei in the wilderness.? ? Sybil Moholy-Nagy, Carlos Raul Villaneuva and The Architecture of Venezuela
Not just as a historic and geographic locus but also as the very idea, Latin America has a chimeric presence for those who live within and outside its boundaries. A distinct yet slippery sense of place and identity arises from and informs its landscape and architecture, to be found in symbolic places in the mountains and on the plains, on islands and streams, and along riverbanks, in its architectural settings to hyper-chaotic urban conglomerations. We invite essays that engage and express the theme of Sense of Place, experienced in and through the perspective of Latin America.
The essay should communicate experiential dimensions of a specific place and how it provides an anchor and a springboard for unique experiences and memories. The focus of essay may be a landscape, a building (whether celebrated or anonymous), an urban setting or a mega-city. All essays should reflect connections between place and design in natural or built environment. The essays should use appropriate written and graphic representations. The submitted material should be self-explanatory and adhere to the specified length and format (see below).

Eligibility
This competition is open to those with an interest in built and natural environment design issues in Latin America. For the purposes of this competition, Latin America includes Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, the Caribbean, Cayenne, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Falkland Islands, French Guiana, Galapagos Islands, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay, and Venezuela. The built and natural environment disciplines include architecture, urban design, landscape architecture, property and construction, and urban planning. Only single-author entries will be accepted.

Format of submission
The submissions may take the form of graphic or written essay, or a mix of different representations. The only restrictions are (1) the essay needs to be written in English, (2) maximum length of the essay should not exceed five A4 sheets (approx. 2500 words including figures), and (3) the essay should be submitted online in PDF, Word or RTF file format only (see the competition website for more info).

How to enter
All submissions will be accepted using only online registration and upload. You can also register first and submit the essay subsequently before the closing date. There is no entry fee to enter the essay competition. You need to have a valid email address. Refer to the essay website from mid May 2005 for all other information and instructions.

Judging criteria

The essays will be judged by a panel of senior academics in the Faculty and invited external members. The final panel will be announced on the website.

Prizes
A total amount of A$ 5000.- will be awarded as prizes. Depending on the discretion of the judging panel, prizes will be distributed among the first, second, and third winners. The decision of the judging panel will be final. The panel may also decide not to award one or more prizes.

About the Competition:

This Essay Competition is organized by Temasek Hall, National University of Singapore as part of the Hall?s commitment to her motto of ?to achieve and to inspire?. This inaugural annual essay competition is of particular importance as it will be incorporated into the International Conference on Education from 6 December 2005 to 9 December 2005. The winning essays will be printed along with the Conference program. The prizes will be presented by the Guest of Honour in the morning of 7 December 2005 during the Conference.
As Temasek Hall, the National University of Singapore and the International Conference are all about Education, it is appropriate to have this inaugural Essay Competition adopt the theme of Education. In line with the creative spirit of the Hall, and unlike other Essay Competitions, the title of the essay is determined by the writer. The article can be on any aspect of Education.


How to Participate:

Outline of the Competition
Your essay will be on the theme of ?Education?.
The essay will be in English.
The word limit is 2000 words maximum. Each figure and each table will be equivalent to 200 words.
Remember to give your essay an appropriate title.
Some possible topics are:
1 Get physic-al: Explain how grappling with the laws of nature can help you grapple with the demands of life.

2 Assume you are a scientist or an engineer. You have been given $5 million to carry out research. Which area of research would you focus on that, in your view, would have the greatest payoff in terms of improving people's lives?

3 What goes up must come down, according to the law of gravity. But as a scientist, your discoveries can permanently elevate the quality of life for all mankind. Give some examples, and elaborate on them.

4 You are a fresh graduate. You have a choice of a) joining a multi-national corporation with a job that pays $100,000 a year, or b) pursuing a higher degree with no assurance of a position at the end of it all. You decide to opt for (b). Why?

Yadi Sanjaya (SI 2004) and Alden Anderson (TI 2003) managed to be the 1st winner of e.com 2005 after beating the last year's champion, who are also this year's favourite,Hendriyadi and Henry (a.k.a Bogel and Gedong, TI-MAT 2002). Yadi and Alden, under the name of BNEC A beat HIMMAT-Binus by a margin of 50 points in the final round.

Meanwhile, the others BNEC's delegates for storytelling and newscasting, Angelina Tejaya (TI 2003) and Simon Kristofer (TI 2002) were finalists. Unfortunately, they didn't make it to the top three in the finals.

For the debating competition, all Tarakanita II finals occured. Tarakanita II B as the government was against Tarakanita II A as the opposition. The motion ' TH believe that Aceh MoU will not work' eventually goes to the government team. Tarakanita II B were named the Debating Champion of e.com 2005, Tarakanita II A as the 1st Runner Up, and Sang Timur B as the 2nd Runner Up.

This year's e.com 2005 reached over 400+ participants. Making it the biggest e.com ever held by Binus IUP. In addition to that, even some high schools from Bandung and Lampung participated in the competition. An extraordinary improvement for the e.com committee.

Atma Jaya University from Jakarta shows her dominance in the 9th JOVED 2005 hosted by Unpar-Unpas-Unpad-STPB, Bandung, as both team, Atma A and Atma B, came up as the Champion and 2nd Runner Up. While Jenderal Soedirman University (Unsoed B) and Parahyangan University (Unpar) came up as Runner-Up and 2nd Runner-Up.

ATMA A won over UNSOED B in the grand final on the motion 'TH would implement flat tax' as the opposition team. They won on split decision 6-3.

Meanwhile, the defending champion and the superdominant team, University of Indonesia, failed to go any further as they were tackled by Unsoed B, who eventually become the Runner-Up. Meanwhile, Sekolah Tinggi Akuntansi Negara (STAN), which is also a favourite for the trophy, could not participate in the tournament, as they are having their final exams.

Bina Nusantara English Club's representative, Binus B (Winston, Ranthy, Lulu) were the quarter finalist, and later Ranthy was named the 3rd Best Speaker of the competition.

As for the next 10th JOVED 2006, Pelita Harapan and Bina Nusantara University is going to be the host. Looking forward to the next JOVED.

BNEC delegates managed to achieve Runner Up (2nd Winner) for EforL (English as Foreign Language) in The 1st Asian Universities Debating Championship 2005, NTU, Singapore. They were beaten by Korea team, with only a minor margin. The delegates are : Ranthy, Noni, and Andreas Fender. Meanwhile, Ranthy got the 1st Best EforL speaker and Noni the 3rd. It is a very prestigious achievement that we achieved, considering we are the first Indonesian team ever attained that achievement. Viva BNEC!

Browser yang akhir-akhir ini naik daun Firefox terdapat bagian kritikal seperti lubang sekuriti dan koding yang telah tersebar. Kedua bagian Kelemahan tersebut dapat memungkinkan browser ini diserang oleh hacker dan system anda dikuasai. User dalam beberapa waktu ini dapat memproteksi dengan mematikan fungsi JavaScript. Mozilla Foundation telah berusaha menutupi bagian cacat tersebut agar tidak dapat diexploitasi dengan mengubah mekanisme download pada server-side pada update.mozilla.org dan addons.mozilla.org. Kedua kelemahan tersebut ditemukan oleh Paul of Greyhats Security group dan Michael "mikx" Krax. Penyerang dapat membuat halaman jahat menggunakan frame dan JavaScript history untuk membuat instalasi software datang dari site yang dipercayai. dengan kondisi default, firefox memperbolehkan instalasi software dari update.mozilla.org dan addons.mozilla.org. Pemicu expoitasi yang kedua pada instalasi software adalah dengan mengunakan bug pada vertifikasi masukan pada "IconURL" parameter pada mekanisme install. Efek pada bug tersebut membuat user dapat mengclick pada icon dan memicu koding JavaScript yang jahat tersebut aktif. karena koding tersebut aktif dari halaman browser maka hal tersebut terjadi pada user yang menjalankan Firefox.
